Health Services Coordinator/School Nurse

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To strengthen and facilitate the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of children and by identification and assistance in the removal or modification of health related barriers to learning for individual children. To consult with and provide training for teachers and staff concerning various medical conditions and delegated medical procedures and to develop health care plans and provide treatment as ordered by a physician to eligible disabled students according to IEP recommendations.
PAY GRADE: T-4 Salary Range: $44,698.00 - $66,129.00. Salary placement will be based on Douglas County Board of Education approved salary schedules and years of verified relevant experience.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Days (10 Months)
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Safety, Health & Emergency Preparedness
EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Experience: Previous Pediatric, Community Health, and/or School Health Nursing preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Valid Registered Professional Nurse License from Georgia Board of Nursing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; jobs are sedentary if working and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PROFICIENT SKILLS:
Current CPR certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.

Adheres to local school procedures and regulations in supportive manner.
Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities.
Coordinates screening and evaluates findings of deficits for vision, scoliosis, etc.
Serve as a resource person to teachers and parents concerning health problems, disease process, and disabilities as they relate to learning and school.
Initiates referrals to parents, school personnel, and community health resources for intervention, remediation, and follow through - includes referrals for services covered by Medicaid.
Provides ongoing health education with students, parents, and health agencies.
Provide in-service education programs to staff on health issues, wellness, and prevention including CPR, medication administration, health manual updates, etc.
Conduct on-site school visits to evaluate the provision of school health services by school health monitors providing specific recommendations for needed changes in the following areas:
Compliance with medication procedures
Identification of medically-fragile students
Documentation of clinic activity
Other school health issues as needed
Plans, implements, and evaluates school health management protocols for the student with special health needs including administration of medications, catheterizations, tube feedings, and suctioning.
Serves on related community and educational committees as deemed appropriate.
Maintains records according to policies and directives.
Updates school health manuals consulting with appropriate health agencies as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
